The "Malva" community took advantage of volunteer Dina's idea - to get to know this branch of art during the traditional Tuesday handicraft club session.
After a short exercise to "tweak" the fingers, the women got down to work. Strangely twisted or folded paper strips took on the contours of various shapes and objects. It was fun not only to learn how to fold figures, but also to learn that quilling, treated as an art form, appeared as early as the 15th century.
Practicing quilling began in monasteries, because in a sense it was and is a meditation technique that helps to relax. In the past, a feather shaft was used to spin the ribbons, but this year the abundance of tools is very diverse.
For the first time, small compositions were created. We look forward to next Tuesday and new ideas.
