With the support collected, a regular, ongoing program of activities was created to strengthen the physical and emotional health of seniors. The greatest attention was paid to physical activity. Each week there were exercises that helped improve movement, balance, flexibility and general well-being. Periodic trips to the swimming pool and Scandinavian walking classes were also very valuable.
We purchased professional walking sticks for Scandinavian walking so that the participants could continue their activities even after the end of the project - this became an important investment in their health and independence. The sessions helped to exercise safely, reduce joint and back pain, relax the body and give more energy.
All activities contributed significantly not only to physical, but also to emotional well-being. Seniors became more active, experienced less stress, became more motivated, and shared meetings strengthened the sense of community and belonging.
The project clearly demonstrated that regular physical activity is one of the simplest and most effective ways to improve the quality of life of older people.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. Thanks to you, Ukrainian seniors in Šiauliai received not only direct help, but also the opportunity to remain active, stronger and more self-confident. The project has left a lasting, lasting impact on our community.
