While waiting for the birth of the baby Jesus in the gathering of Advent, in Ukraine that peace is disturbed by the thunder of war. Defenders of freedom are also looking forward to Christmas. Where? In trenches, bunkers, hospital wards. Their Christmas tree is the tree of life and our gifts are packed in simple shoe boxes. Their song is the silence between explosions and gunfire...

We cannot change that. But we are able to strengthen hope, help and cheer.
