The ensemble of the Ukrainian folk song "Lastivochka" and members of the seniors' club under the leadership of Olena Lastivka performed several Ukrainian songs. Zhanna Tolstikova, one of the leaders of the organization, gave a welcome speech, who thanked for the visit and briefly spoke about the main activities of the center. Her presentation was complemented by a short film about the "Malva" community and its goals.
Director of the center Serhiy Akhmetov conducted a short tour, demonstrated products, items of first necessity for the Ukrainian front, wounded fighters and refugees.
Cara McDonald thanked all the center's staff and volunteers for their very important, noble work every day. The ambassador emphasized that she was touched by the fact that, despite all the trials, Ukrainians unite with the people of Lithuania, do not lose faith, warmth and responsibility. According to K. MacDonald, the preservation of culture and traditions is very important, and the live performance of Ukrainian songs is a great gift for her.
The warm, emotional and friendly meeting ended with tea and tasting of Ukrainian pastries.
We thank Ambassador Kari Macdonald for the visit and look forward to further cooperation!
