For almost two months, from June 10 to August 2, 2024, the day educational and educational children's summer recreation camp "Malvyat" for children of refugees from Ukraine was held in the UIC "Malva". Children aged 6-10 and 11-14 were divided into 3 shifts. In total, more than 50 children took part in the camp.

The organizers tried to make the program so that studies, trips and activities were not repeated either for the children of each shift or for each individual week of the camp. It's nice to see that we coped perfectly with this task. Children's rest and free time was diverse and full of adventures and new acquaintances. We sincerely thank the friends and partners of "Malva", without whose help the events would not have been so bright and interesting.

Libraries of the city of Siauliai took on the difficult mission of organizing our children's free time. Many active, fun, unforgettable hours were spent in Šiauliai City Public Library, namely in branches "Saules", "Shaltinelios", "Spindulios", Lieporiu, Rękyva, and in the public library named after Povilas of Vyshinskyi, Šiauliai district.

Thanks to professional educators - librarians, children had the opportunity to paint clothes (T-shirts and hats), develop theatrical abilities, sculpt from clay, plasticine, create soap bubbles, engage in 3-D modeling, build LEGO robots, play intellectual games, learn the basics of computer programming, improve foreign languages, familiarize themselves with library funds and principles of self-service, create products with eco-friendly materials, cut paper figures and do needlework, make logos, but don't forget about fun games, dancing and karaoke.

Children also visited museums of the city, where excursions and entertainment and educational events took place. IN bicycle museums got acquainted with various exhibition models of bicycle transport. IN historical museum they sculpted pots from clay, learned how the learning process took place in Lithuanian schools 100 years ago, familiarized themselves with the museum exhibits. It brought a lot of good emotions to the vacationers Museum of Radio and Television, because here they could try themselves as TV presenters, cameramen, stage workers... Children learned a lot by visiting Museum of Telephony. It was interesting to learn about the history of telephones, to see old models of not only landline phones, but also mobile phones. On Villa Frankel children made leather bracelets and key rings. No one remained indifferent to the visit Museum of cats, getting to know its inhabitants and exhibits.
She offered interesting art classes Šiauliai Art Gallery, where Malvyats created icons and drawings.

It is not easy for children to forget visits fire department of Siauliai. Children had the opportunity to learn about the dangerous but important work of firefighters, talk to brave men, sit in fire trucks, try on uniforms and helmets...

Malvyata became gardeners, florists, detectives in the local botanical garden: got acquainted with plants that usually grow in Lithuania, their symbolism, found plants that were imported from different parts of the world and that have unique properties.

To diversify the camp program, trips to Kurtuvenaya and Naysia.
Traveling along the route of the mysterious letter and following the directions of the old map in Kurtuvenai, the children searched for the missing "Horseshoe of Happiness", thereby getting acquainted with ancient buildings and the places of the former manor house, performing fun tasks, and also visited exhibitions in the "Svirno" gallery.
And in Naysia, vacationers not only viewed the Baltic exhibits, but also visited the "Baltas grandras" restaurant, baked and ate pizza to their heart's content. After a delicious lunch, the children enjoyed playing and swimming in the pond.

It was great, we spent time actively on the lakes as well Talksha and Rekiva, demonstrated sports and artistic abilities on Šiauliai summer stage and in halls of UIC "Malva".

Especially "delicious" THANK YOU we say to our friends - "Rita's website", its director and all the staff. Thanks for the hearty lunch, smiles and friendliness.

Thank you very much Regina Stulginskiene, member boards of the center, for organizing the camp, drawing up programs, coordinating cooperation with organizations, for a warm and caring approach to each child.

Educators "camped" with the children for two months Iryna and Vladislav, who experienced special, unique and unforgettable emotions with each shift and with each child.
Thank you for your endurance and patience!

And, of course, we thank the main sponsors of the camp, without whom this camp would not take place - Šiauliai Lions Club Alka.

The team of UIC "Malva", children and their parents thank everyone who made the summer vacation of young Ukrainians unforgettable during this camp!
